Abby graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Kinesiology. She then spent two years at the National Institutes of Health working on the neurobiology of fear and anxiety. Abby joined the lab in the Fall of 2017 where she studies how curiosity and intrinsic motivation impact learning and memory.
I am interested in mechanisms driving curiosity. Specifically, I am exploring how the structure of our environment modulates how often we seek information, whether about our present environment or for more trivial reasons. My ultimate goal is to be able to harness this drive to improve the desire to explore and learn in adulthood.
